It appears that Oppo Mobile is planning to launch a new device named Oppo A9s soon. This phone is likely to be the successor to the Oppo A9. Although the A9 was launched several months ago in other markets, it never made it to the Kenyan market. A few phones announced after the A9, like the Oppo Reno 10X Zoom, are already available in the country.
According to recent leaks, two different versions of the phone have been spotted, one with code CPH1931 and another with PCHM10. Both smartphones have the same specifications. This is likely because they just different variations of the same device. They have different model numbers probably because they are meant for different markets. The PCHM10 may be meant for the Chinese market while the CPH1931 may be sold in other parts of the world.
Oppo A9s Specifications
This phone has a lot of similarities with the A9. However, there are a few changes that differentiate the two smartphones. For example, the older phone has a 6.5-inch full HD display with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution while the A9s will have a display with 720 pixels by 1600 pixels. The A9s will also be powered by a different chipset. The A9 was equipped with MediaTek Helio P75 but the A9s is rumored to have Snapdragon 665 chipset. This processor is better than Snapdragon 660, the processor that powers many budget phones. Snapdragon 665 is made with the 11nm manufacturing process.
The A9s is expected to have 4GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage space. It is rumored that it will have Android Pie out of the package with ColorOS 6.0.1 user interface. Like other Oppo A-Series phones, this phone is likely to have a large 5000mAh battery.
