People complained about Nokia 9 Pureview’s fingerprint scanner right from the time the phone was released. That forced HMD Global to release an update that was expected to take care of the issue. Many users have already installed the update but it turns out it creates a different issue – a security issue.
According to some users, it initially appeared that the new firmware had improved the performance of the fingerprint sensor. However, some people later discovered that unregistered fingers could unlock the phone.
Obviously, there is something wrong with the update. The algorithm seems to be less precise. Another patch is needed as soon as possible to fix the issue.
